Founded in July 2025, Sahas: Paths to Confidence is dedicated to implementing a multi-faceted approach towards helping create a more inclusive society for disabled individuals at the local level. We aim to wield a collaborative model combining on-ground assessments and low-cost design interventions to empower community workers and educators in their efforts to create a more accessible and disability-friendly space.
In addition to conducting expert-led workshops for educators and teachers to help them modify their pedagogies for individuals with disabilities with the aim of enhancing learning outcomes, Sahas also aims to undertake material interventions to facilitate accessible spaces. We seek to conduct surveys to assess exclusionary design principles at the premises of our partner NGO, in order to refurbish the NGO premises and overhaul it into a disability-friendly space. We aim to fund this refurbishment through a public fundraising campaign. Lastly, we seek to publish a research paper, exploring the ways in which novel design principles and latest innovations can be used in the Indian context to make public spaces more accessible.
In combining research and community action, Sahas’s goal is to sustain long-term positive impact in empowering individuals with disabilities, and specifically children, ensuring that the NGOs working tirelessly towards their betterment are in a position to provide the best aid they can.
